Breakfast Bend –\u00a0<\/strong>An der n\u00f6rdlich und letzten Insel der Similans<\/a> liegt der Tauchplatz “Breakfast Bend”. Der Tauchplatz erstreckt sich \u00fcber die ganze Ostseite und ist gut f\u00fcr Nachttauchg\u00e4nge. Das abfallende Riff besteht haupts\u00e4chlich aus Korallen Bl\u00f6cken die von Sand umgeben sind. Die Hirsch Korallen, die es viel hat, ziehen sich vom Flachbereich auf max. 22 Meter runter. Es hat viel Jungfisch, so das es manchmal schwierig ist in den Hartkorallen nach Mur\u00e4nen oder Rotfeuer Fischen zu suchen.<\/p>\n

Es ist ein typischer Tauchplatz wo man sich gut entspannt und\u00a0einfach am Riff entlang treiben l\u00e4sst. Schildkr\u00f6ten kann man oft sehen, genauso wie Seeschlangen. Fledermausfische sind oft weiter im Norden zu beobachten. Im Sand sind Blaupunktrochen und Sandaale und mit etwas Gl\u00fcck auch der Leopardenhai.<\/p>\n

Die Str\u00f6mung spielt hier keine gro\u00dfe Rolle da sich das Riff wie an der Leine entlang zieht.<\/p>\n

Diving in Similan Islands - Breakfast Bend skirts the entire eastern side of Similan Island No. 9 (Koh Bangu) though the northern half of the dive site is often called Three Trees or Bat Fish Bend. This is another classic example of how the scuba dive sites were named in the early years of Similan Islands.<\/a> It was first dived at breakfast time, it\u2019s a bend around the side of the island, hey presto there\u2019s the name.<\/p>

The actual reef is made of of a sandy slope starting at about 10 metres of depth and going down to 25 metres covered in rocky outcrops and coral bommies. Large patches of Stag horn coral are broken up by patches of colourful soft coral \u2013 blue, yellow, pink and purple. At the southern end of the dive site, search the reef and look for Garden Eels and Stingrays on the sandy bottom.<\/p>

At the northern end watch for the resident Turtles feeding on corals and sea grass. As well as the normal reef fish this site has schools of snapper, fussillier and the small Forster's Barracuda<\/p>
