Chalong is situated at at the southern end of the island of Phuket, away from the hustle and bustle of Patong yet still within easy reach of both there and the international shopping mall of Central, plus the Tesco superstore.

If you plan on doing a lot of day boat diving before or after your liveaboard cruise Chalong is ideally located as this is where the harbour is that the day boats use.

When not diving or shopping there is plenty to do and see at the southern end of the island. Nai Harn beach is only a few minutes away by taxi as is the Big Buddha a 43 meter high Buddha that overlooks the south of the island. Rawai is close by and is famous for its beach side restaurants and for the more adventurous elephant trekking camps are conviniently situated.

The famous weekend market of Phuket Town that sells everything from cloths to electronics is about 10 minutes away by taxi and has a huge selection of food stall selling all sorts of traditional Thai food.
